- The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is a law that requires organizations to report on their sustainability disclosures across several topics pertaining to environmental and social issues. It was adopted by the Council and the European Parliament on November 24, 2022, and entered into force on January 5, 2023.The reporting standards are called European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and they cover topics such as environmental matters, social matters, human rights, anti-corruption, diversity and more. The reports must also apply a double materiality approach, meaning they must consider both the impact of the organization on sustainability and the impact of sustainability on the organization.
