Human Rights

Committed to protecting Human Rights

Brenntag is committed to protecting human rights which is also demonstrated and documented through our Policy Statement on Human Rights, Code of Conduct and our membership of the UN Global Compact.
To ensure the identification and mitigation of relevant social and environmental risks, we have implemented a Human Rights Due Diligence system. It is based on internationally applicable standards and guidelines, such as the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP) as well as conventions and recommendations of the International Labor Organization (ILO) on labor and social standards and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
Our due diligence system extends not only to our own operations, but also to our supply chain. It encompasses:
  • Risk management and clear responsibilities to oversee, implement and execute the system
  • Complaints Channel (see Compliance Page)
  • Risk analysis
  • Preventive and remedial actions
  • Effectiveness control
  • Reporting
Dr. Andreas Kicherer
Human rights are universal, multinationally agreed fundamental rights of every human being. It is therefore a fundamental principle for Brenntag to respect them. We are aware of our responsibility along the entire value chain and will implement the necessary measures to live up to this responsibility.
